  • Making Safe House Profiling the story of the film from inception to completion, this comprehensive Making Of would be filled with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage that showcases the entire cast and crew. We will learn how the script was amongst one of Hollywood’s underground’s favorites on its famed “Black List”; how the filmmaking team of Director Daniel Espinosa, Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds and the rest of the cast came together and how with an award-winning production team, they brought this thrilling story to life.
  • Hand-to-Hand Action French fight choreographer Olivier Schneider (Taken) brought a high-intensity, character-based approach to the hand-to-hand combat in the film. In order to sell Daniel Espinosa on his vision for each of the fight scenes, Schneider held intense workouts with the actors and then filmed the scenes as he envisioned them. Here, Ryan Reynolds and Daniel Espinosa will explain how Olivier’s films informed the final motion picture. We’ll join Ryan for a couple of rehearsals, and, then, we will actually watch the brilliant raw versions of the scenes that we see in the film (with a special direct-to-camera set-up of the films by Olivier Schneider).
  • Shooting the Safe House Attack We’ll reveal every detail behind the creation of the film’s epic initial attack - filmed as a war scene rather than a traditional gunfight, Daniel Espinosa and his team combined artistry with tactical perfection in this chilling sequence. This featurette will showcase comprehensive interviews with the cast & crew, Academy Award winner Brigitte Broch’s production design Team, and the detailed planning of the stunt team as we take you from the initial rehearsals to the final takes.
  • Building the Rooftop Chase We’ll reveal every detail behind the creation of the incredible sequence filmed in Cape Town’s oldest township: Langa. Set in a location that has never been seen before on film, the Langa stunt sequence required a massive amount of precision, a little politics and a lot of planning in order to present a pivotal moment in the film. Featuring interviews, B-Roll of the dangerous jumping, driving and gunfire-related stunts, flyover footage and even a first-person perspective of Denzel Washington’s rooftop run, this piece will showcase the intense preparation and focus necessary to pull off such an exciting set piece.
  • Behind the Action Here, we’ll focus on legendary stunt coordinator Greg Powell, fight choreographer Olivier Schneider and tactical advisor Dan Hirst – and hear from the cast and crew – as we look at key action sequences involving dangerous driving stunts, heavy gun play and frenetic fight choreography. The piece will include an interview with Greg Powell inside of a speeding car, unique angles on the scenes courtesy of GoPro cameras and an introduction to the crazy stunt team that works hard… and, thanks to a little hypnotism, plays even harder.
  • Inside the CIA With an eye towards giving the film the utmost authenticity, the producers brought on CIA Advisor, Luis Falcon III – a 30-year veteran who worked undercover as a case officer in some of the hottest zones in the world. We’ll hear how he worked with the cast, collaborated with the director; how this film matches up to reality, how difficult it is to maintain personal relationships when you’re in the CIA, and join him in a walk & talk through the CIA office.
  • Safe Harbor: Cape Town As one of the most multicultural cities in the world and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Africa, it’s a wonder why Cape Town hasn’t had the cinematic exposure of some of the world’s other more-photographed cities. We’ll speak with the filmmakers about their reasons for setting this intense action here, why the city was perfectly prepared to make the film and why practical locations were used throughout the shoot. This piece will also cover how the film was originally set in Rio De Janeiro, but was changed after the filmmakers found inspiration in South Africa… and then set out on an adventure where authenticity in costuming, production design and story development were absolutely crucial to the progression of the story.
